What to do while in New York:

You can start your weekend with a stop at the Visitor’s Center on Times Square. In addition to information and brochures you will find coupons for many attractions. If you go on a Friday take advantage of the free tour of Times Square, starting at noon in the Visitor’s Center.

Visit the largest farmer’s market in New York City, Union Square Greenmarket. Begun as a small collection of farmers in 1976, the market has grown to 140 regional farmers, fishermen, and bakers at the height of the growing season.  Cooking demonstrations highlight what’s in season at the market on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Spend a day at Fort Tryon Park. Participate in one of the free fitness programs or stroll through one of the four gardens. The park is also the home of the Medieval art and architecture collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The collection can be found in the Cloisters Museum.
