New Star Wars Inspired Hotel announced at Disney World

A new Star Wars inspired hotel has just been announced as part of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts new immersive 360 vacation concept.

Announced during D23 from current Disney Chairman Bob Chapek. “It’s unlike anything that exists today.” Bob said. “From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story! You’ll immediately become a citizen of the galaxy and experience all that entails, including dressing up in the proper attire. Once you leave Earth, you will discover a starship alive with characters, stories, and adventures that unfold all around you. It is 100% immersive, and the story will touch every single minute of your day, and it will culminate in a unique journey for every person who visits.”

The hotel would be incorporated in to the Star Wars: Galaxy Edge theme park expansion currently underway at Hollywood Studios. Rumors currently include being assigned missions while staying at the hotel which could change daily or per stay to entice you to return to make further progress in the storyline.

Anyone who has been watching Westworld on HBO might see some similarity in the full immersion concept. Hopefully Bobba Fett’s relatives don’t fire real weapons back at you at this hotel experience.

This concept could be a great fit for the Star Wars fanatics hidden in a lot of us. I do not see myself wanting to don a costume on my vacation. But certain my son a year or two back would have wanted to, which would have forced my participation as well. I can hear the costume and accessories bill racking up now. The Prince and Princess makeovers generally appeal to the younger crowd. This is a great segue in to the pre-teen dress up market for Disney and their associated parents.

Think Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, but now at Hollywood Studios and utilizing lightsabers.
