Icicle Brewing Company – Leavenworth, WA

If you like beer, don’t miss the Icicle Brewing Company. Their friendly brew master, Dean Priebe was there having lunch when we stopped by during our family trip to Leavenworth. We got to chat with Dean about the beer making process when we were there. I tasted the Colchuck Raspberry Wheat and the Bootjack Amber, and my husband had the Priebe Porter. They were highly drinkable beers…not sure that’s a thing, but that’s how I’d put it.

We actually found that many of the local restaurants served Icicle Brewing Company beers and over the course of the week got to try others as well. At the brewery itself, we sat outside despite it being winter, as they have a lovely fire table as well as heat lamps (with misters as well for the summer months). The outside area is dog friendly and, though we didn’t have our own with us on this trip, there were a couple groups of folks who brought their canine buddies with them. “Diva” is the sweet bulldog we met.

My son was hungry, and though they don’t have a lot of food on offer at the brewery, he was able to get a hot bowl of cream of mushroom soup. My husband promptly ate all the gherkins that came on the side.

They offer brewery tours on Saturdays and Sundays. Since we were there during the week we missed out on that. They also have live music on the weekends.
