Cannes Film Festival 2016 Sweepstakes

Mouton Cadet, the official wine supplier of the Cannes Film Festival for over 20 years, has announced a sweepstakes to award one winner and their guest at trip to the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. The winner will receive round-trip air transportation, six nights hotel accommodations, and $500 spending money.

Previously called the International Film Festival, the event was renamed the Cannes Film Festival in 2002. The first festival was held in 1947. In 2015 awards were presented in 22 categories. The most prestigious of the awards is the Palme d’Or, Golden Palm. The 2015 winner was Dheepan, a film by French Director Jacques Audiard.

While in Cannes you can explore other attractions recommended by the Cannes Tourist Office. Enjoy one of the many exceptional restaurants or participate in a gastronomy tour of the area. Cannes also is home to some exceptional gardens and museums.

Only a short train ride away are Antibes, Nice and Monaco.

The lucky winner could tour the many museums and art galleries in Antibes. Three of my favorite museums in Antibes are Musee Picasso, Peynet Museum and Musee d’Archeologie.

Or visit the Cours Saleya Market in Nice. Here are two photos from my visit there this past May.
