Kat Hasenauer Cornetta

Kat Hasenauer Cornetta is a freelance writer and IT and communications professional who dreamed of traveling when growing up in Rochester, NY. She wanted to travel so badly that when it came time for her Confirmation, she chose the Patron Saint of Travelers, Fabiola, as her Confirmation name! Luckily, both of her current jobs give her opportunities to travel around the United States. She loves traveling to cover national championships in women's hockey, gymnastics and figure skating, which allow her to explore new areas while writing about the sports she loves. An avid coffee-drinker, traveling has allowed her to gather a collection of go-to coffee spots from Long Beach, California to Madison, Wisconsin. Kat has a bachelor's degree in history from Binghamton University and a Masters of Education from Boston University. She writes part-time for the Boston Herald sports department, and has written for Newsday and the Rochester, NY Democrat and Chronicle, among others. Her writing was honored by the College Baseball Foundation in 2012 and she was named a top social media influencer by Yahoo! in 2011. She currently resides in Salem, Massachusetts.
