Jed Onboard the Sunrise in Santorini

MilesGeek was established by Jed Stafford a professional traveler for more than 10 years. Over the years the idea of MilesGeek was born after booking multiple around the world itineraries using points and miles. A funny thing happened along the way, was I found I enjoyed writing about the people and destinations of our travel much more so than the daily mileage hacks that were constantly changing.

Over time MilesGeek has continued to grow and other writers started submitting great content as well. The name now more so reflects the number of miles we travel each year more so than reward miles. We do continue to highlight miles and points when we believe they are of high benefit and not something that will only last for 24 hours. We want to focus on mileage benefits for the year vs the day and not flood readers with credit card affiliate offers.

There are plenty of great sites out there such as The Points Guy which already successfully cover the daily nuances of credit card offers and breaking short-term deal alerts. The ability to earn free travel utilizing sign-up bonuses and credit card points is something we utilize and regularly advise people looking for how to travel with a limited travel budget to explore.

I am interested in writing for Miles Geek. Please send me your writer’s guidelines.

I am a freelance writer based in The Woodlands, Texas. I enjoy traveling and writing about the Houston to Dallas to San Antonio area of central Texas, especially the Hill Country. I have also traveled extensively throughout the US and Europe, and will be returning to Germany (Frankfurt, Baden Baden, Munich) and to Italy (Venice, Florence, Tuscany, Cinque Terre, and Rome) in June this year. I currently teach Special Education and coach tennis in high school, but will be retiring soon to spend full time as a travel writer.
